Three of Five Quilting UFOs Complete, Hooray!

There is nothing like satisfying your inner project manager and finishing up some of those "UnFinished Objects” or UFOs in your sewing space.  Finally, finally, I have managed to complete three of those UFOs with two more close behind in the pipeline.  Of course, finishing something isn't complete without a little sharing so here are my first three of five completed UFOs for your viewing enjoyment and comments.

Thanks to Jennet from IcePurplePenguin for her fabulous quilting and binding services. Where would I be without you?

UFO #1: Heather Ross Mendocino Quilt 2

This is the second quilt I made with Heather Ross Mendocino fabric. This quilt is very different from it’s bright and sassy sibling, the Chain Reaction quilt. Of course, kitty had to get into the picture of the quilt back, looking up at me as I was standing on the stairs to get the photo.

UFO #2: Day of the Dead Bear Paw Quilt

This might be my current favorite, a traditional pattern and a not-so-traditional fabric choice.  Of course, the trick is to figure out what to do with all the leftover Day of the Dead fabric.

UFO #3: Peacock Kaleidoscope (or "One Block Wonder") Quilt

This was a fun technique to try, and I have UFO #4 coming soon using this same approach but with koi fish instead of gilded peacocks. I hand-appliqued numerous hexagons on the front of this quilt in the border areas to finish up the quilt top, took me a while!

Well, there you have it!  Three UFOs finished and two more in progress and finishing up soon (I hope).   If anyone is looking for some fun Day of the Dead fabric and fabric scraps, give me a holler. I also have some pieces of Mendocino fabric left if you are looking for a specific pattern or color.

Happy quilting!
Susan
